Arm lift

As people age or if they lose a lot of weight, the skin on their upper arms can sag or droop. This problem cannot be resolved by intensive exercising or using creams. An operation is often a possible solution.

You can make an appointment for a consultation with the plastic surgeon. This first consultation is free of charge.

The specialist will be able to tell you if such a procedure can be performed on you. And whether the result you want is achievable. During this consultation, the surgeon may show you pre-op and post-op photos.

Arm lift procedure

The procedure is carried out under general anaesthetic and takes approximately one hour. An incision is made between the armpit and elbow, via which excess skin and, if necessary, fatty tissue is removed on the underside of the upper arm. After stitching the wound together, the plastic surgeon then applies a bandage.

Post procedure

You are allowed to go home the very same day. The bandage is to be kept on for one week. After the operation, you obviously have to be careful. For a period of six weeks, you are to refrain from doing any strenuous exercise, lifting heavy weights or performing any heavy work.

You will go back to see the plastic surgeon a week after the procedure for a check-up and to have the bandage and stitches removed. Follow-up check-ups will be made in consultation with the specialist.
