Cheekbone contouring
Cheekbones are an important element determining the shape of your face. Accentuating the cheek bones with make-up does not always give the desired result. An option is to have an operation to insert implants.
You can make an appointment for a consultation with the plastic surgeon. This first consultation is free of charge.
The specialist will be able to tell you if such a procedure can be performed on you. And whether the result you want is achievable. During this consultation, the surgeon may show you pre-op and post-op photos.
Cheekbone contouring procedure
The implants are inserted under general anaesthetic, taking approximately one hour. They are put in position via a small incision in the mouth. After stitching the wound together, the plastic surgeon then externally applies tape to act as a support bandage.
Post procedure
You are allowed to go home the very same day. After the operation, you obviously have to be careful. Physical exertion should be avoided for two weeks. You may find chewing painful. For a week after the procedure, you should rinse your mouth out with a special product to prevent infection. You will be given a prescription for this product.
You will go back to see the plastic surgeon a week after the procedure for a check-up and to have the tape and stitches removed. Follow-up check-ups will be made in consultation with the specialist.
