Chin augmentation
Having a chin that is too small can be a real problem for some people. An operation to insert an implant is a possible solution.
You can make an appointment for a consultation with the plastic surgeon. This first consultation is free of charge.
The specialist will be able to tell you if such a procedure can be performed on you. And whether the result you want is achievable. During this consultation, the surgeon may show you pre-op and post-op photos.
Chin augmentation procedure
The implant is inserted under local anaesthetic, taking approximately one hour. The implant is put in position via a small incision in the mouth. The scar will be inside the mouth, so will not be visible externally.
Post procedure
You will be free to go home shortly after the procedure. After the operation, you obviously have to be careful. Chewing may be quite painful in the first few days. For a week after the procedure, you should rinse your mouth out with a special product to prevent infection. You will be given a prescription for this product. You will go back to see the plastic surgeon a week after the procedure for a check-up and to have the stitches removed. Follow-up check-ups will be made in consultation with the specialist.
